Managing Director
Anisa started in Summer 2026 and brings over a decade of experience at the intersection of contemplative practice, education, and community building. Most recently, she served as Associate Director at InsightLA Meditation, where she oversaw programming, helped grow attendance significantly, and partnered with teachers to launch new initiatives, including the first ever Transgender Vipassana Retreat and programming designed for First Responders during the pandemic. She guided InsightLA through a significant leadership shift, stabilizing the organization as it moved toward a sustainable, community-supported pillar of LA’s spiritual community. We are thrilled to anticipate what she will unleash at Alembic!
Anisa's own path has been shaped by deep practice: 100+ nights of silent retreat, 100+ hours of sensory deprivation, and a practice integrating Theravada Buddhist meditation with parts work. Anisa is no stranger to the Alembic community. Over the past year, she has been a regular presence at Alembic events, including Deconstructing Yourself and The Chalice, giving her firsthand insight into what makes this community so special—an understanding she brings into her new role.

Program Manager
Chrissy is the Program Manager at the Berkeley Alembic, where she curates and coordinates the teachers, healers, and thinkers who bring the space to life.
She holds a Master’s in Social Work and spent years working with immigrants and refugees. Much of her twenties were spent living in Latin America, and she remains fluent in Spanish (mostly). She later turned her focus toward the psychedelic medicine space, informed by her own transformative experiences. She served as a community weaver with groups like Mycelia and the East Bay Psychedelic Healing Collective, helping cultivate the connective tissue between seekers and troublemakers of the best kind.
When she’s not tracking down the next great teacher or running programs at the Alembic, you can find her hiking Claremont Canyon, deep in her Iyengar yoga practice, or winding down with a documentary and a glass of herbal tea.
